64 Slice Dual-Source CT
Our new Dual Source CT scanner has two x-ray tubes oriented at 90 degrees to one another. This allows us to obtain the 180 degrees of information required for tomography in half the time of a standard, fast (64-slice) CT.
Our images can be obtained in 83 milliseconds.
In addition, we integrate our program of Cardiac CT with other modalities, including Cardiac PET, Cardiac
SPECT and Cardiac MR. This multi-modality approach allows us to marry the
anatomic information of the CT scan with the functional information provided
by these other methods.
The Cardiac CT program at Cedars-Sinai is unique for a variety of reasons,
going beyond having the best equipment. We have four board-certified
Cardiologists and a Cardiovascular Radiologist working here full time. This
allows us to provide the best in patient care, while still maintaining a focus
on clinical research.
Our primary goal is to work with our referring physicians to give the best
possible diagnostic information for the cardiology patient. Daniel S. Berman, MD, FACC
Chief, Cardiac Imaging and Nuclear Cardiology
