Cedars-Sinai's Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Services provides programs and services to quickly detect, diagnose, treat, support and follow up care for children and adolescents with cancer and blood disorders.
Our highly skilled and compassionate medical staff and clinical team provide the latest diagnostic procedures and treatments available. Our doctors are board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology.
Recognizing that the challenge of having cancer has emotional impacts, as well as physical ones, we have a psychosocial services staff that is specially trained in pediatric hematology/oncology support services.
Our child-life specialist works with each child one-on-one to create a comfortable, non-threatening atmosphere. This specialist uses play to help children express their feelings and focus on getting well. Psychosocial services are available to both patients and families.
Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Services is located in the state-of-the-art Cedars-Sinai Outpatient Cancer Center with the latest technology available to treat children, teens and young adults up to 21.
Most of our services can be provided on an outpatient basis, allowing children and teens a normal lifestyle while undergoing treatment. These services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
We are a member of the Children's Oncology Group, a national research organization to study and improve outcomes for children with cancer.
