Cedars-Sinai Alumni Association
Our Mission is to:
- Foster friendship among its members
- Further the interests of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
- Assist the housestaff
- Promote education
The Cedars-Sinai Alumni Association (CSAA), more than 50 years old, was formed to maintain a bond and foster ongoing relationships between past and present medical staff, residents, fellowship candidates and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The group has a wide range of activities for members including an annual business meeting and dinner, an annual resident versus attending basketball game, and honors two outstanding alumni each year. The association also hosts monthly cultural, social and educational events to maintain the bonds between alumni of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
In 2009, the Association began a monthly cultural event for the medical staff and general public. These events include interaction between an expert on the subject matter and the audience. Prior events include a tribute to the legendary conductor Leonard Bernstein, a screening of "When Nietzsche Wept," and a tribute to the brilliant career of opera tenor Luciano Pavarotti.
Planned events for the year 2009 include: - Barbara Markell/Howard Wilner Memorial Breakfast, held April 14, 2009
- Housestaff Blues vs Attending Staff Gomers Annual Basketball Game, held May 17, 2009
- Housestaff vs Attending Staff Annual Softball Game, date to be announced
- Annual Business Dinner Meeting, December 9, 2009, 7 p.m. at the Skirball Center
- Martin Haet Lectureship, December 18, 2009, 8:30 a.m., Harvey Morse Auditorium
