Translational and Clinical Science at Cedars-Sinai
Translational and clinical research at Cedars-Sinai falls under the purview and oversight of the Burns and Allen Research Institute, ranked among the top ten non-university biomedical research institutions in the nation in terms of funding from the National Institutes of Health. Under the leadership of Shlomo Melmed, MD, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer at Cedars-Sinai, the past five years have witnessed a doubling of the amount of extramural research funding in the Institute to almost $70 million per year.

The Office of the CTSI at Cedars-Sinai has the specific mission of:
- Serving as the local administrative unit and communication nexus for all CTSI-related functions, including supporting the activities of the Site Coordinating Group at Cedars-Sinai.
- Acting as the liaison between the Cedars-Sinai community of translational researchers and the CTSI as a whole.
