
Leslie J. Tarlow is an Adult Nurse Practitioner in the Division of Neurology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Ms. Tarlow serves as a member of the Stroke Team and evaluates patients with acute stroke. The Stroke Program provides comprehensive inpatient care beginning in the emergency department and continuing throughout acute hospitalization and acute rehabilitation. She is involved in monitoring the care of patients with TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack) and their rapid evaluation and treatment.
Ms. Tarlow collaborates with the multidisciplinary team; provides education to patients, families, caregivers and the community; provides education to staff; advocates for and counsels patients/families; and participates in research clinical trials.
She is involved in multiple sclerosis clinical trials utilizing her expertise and experience to help educate and recruit patients, participate as a sub-investigator, and assist the Principal Investigator and study staff with clinical evaluation.
Ms. Tarlow is nationally board-certified as a Gerontologic Nurse Practitioner (GNP-BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, is internationally board-certified as a Multiple Sclerosis Certified Nurse (MSCN) by the Multiple Sclerosis Nurses International Certification Board and holds California licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. She earned her master's of science in Nursing (MSN) at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), graduating with honors, and is a preceptor and mentor for other nurses.
In addition, Ms. Tarlow is an active member of American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, Clinical Advisory Committee of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society-Los Angeles chapter, International Organization of MS Nurses, Consortium of MS Centers and California Association for Nurse Practitioners. She is an annual speaker for UCLA graduating Nurse Practitioner students and a frequent speaker for patient and provider educational programs.
Ms. Tarlow has a particular interest in rapid evaluation of Stroke and TIA patients and the study of cognitive impairment in multiple sclerosis patients.
